As far as I know one can tip anywhere and besides Japan tipping would be either encouraged or at least appreciated. This means when in doubt I must leave a tip. However, I learned that in Japan tipping is completely outside their culture and save from very touristsic places it would mostly be refused or even frowned upon.
Are there any other places in the world where I should refrain from tipping?

Comment: In Switzerland this used to be frowned upon (at least outside of tourist destinations). Don’t know if it’s still the case. But I think there’s already a question out there in the topic.
